Full name: Mike Bowers
DJ Handle: DJ Mike
What I play: Mostly country with a touch of hip hop and rap; also beach, 70's and 80's music when the party is right.
Catch me at: Arizona Pete's; 2900-A Patterson Street, Greensboro, NC every Friday and Saturday, I've been there for eight years. I also do weddings and private parties.
Upcoming shows: I do several city events annually, plus I entertain the veterans at the Salisbury Retirement Home twice a year, and of course Arizona Pete's every weekend.
Got in the game: 1998
Why I do it: Well, I played lead guitar and sang in bands for quite a few years but got tired of the road and dealing with so many personalities. So I find it quite soothing to depend on me, myself and I.
Influences: I love the 60's and 70's music the best, but study the Top 40 charts for the newest country and dance music to keep the dance floor full.
First pro gig: A Charlotte wedding reception in the 90's.
Favorite technique: No dead space! Actually there are alot of country dance mixes that are pretty cool I like to play.
Signature mix: Brooks and Dunn's "Boot Scoot'n Boogie" remix always fills the dance floor, along with some specialty line dance mixes.
Personal playlist: Mostly pop and country. Sting is my favorite, McCarney and the Beatles of course will always be there, along with Billy Joel.
My gear: Sony Vaio, Alesis mixer, Crown power amps, 18 inch subs and 15 inch tops with a 1 inch horn and light show.
Best thing about playing in the Triad: The people are great and the travel is easy in this area.

I'd like to add: Well I'm an old dog in this business who can, and has, learned alot of new tricks. I love meeting new people and the music business helps to constantly introduce me to new and interesting people every week. I will stay in it as long as I can keep them dancing!
